Telegram shows my country flag even when my privacy settings is set to Share with NOBODY

Can someone tell me why does telegram show my country flag to other users when they add me or when i add them ? i have set my country phone number to share with nobody and i have telegram logged on iphone and laptop

that flag is probably based on the number prefix or their contact info, not the “who can see my phone number” setting.

so how do i get rid of it? I dont want people adding me on telegram to know my Country

It's new safety feature from Telegram. It's independent from the phone number privacy setting. You can't turn it off. it just shows the flag of you SIM card's country not your IP location.
