Pinterest can work if the game gives people something worth saving, not just launch posts. Character art, maps, builds, short clips or simple guides fit much better than generic promo screenshots.
I’d test a few pin types and watch saves and outbound clicks. If you get impressions but no clicks, people may like the artwork without actually wanting to try the game.

It depends on the game and if it's catered for a female audience mostly, because most people on Pinterest are women.

sure men, Pinterest can work quite well for indie games, as long as u've got strong visuals or art. eventhough it's not the hottest pplace for gaming but I've seen some indie titles get decent discovery there.

yes I would go for that because gaming content is mostly liked on instagram and you can get good views and growth in your independent game.

Well, i'd rather use youtube for that, because it's a way bigger audience, you could always push it with some ads (if the channel is new) and of course, there's just way more people using yt than pinterest. But if you already cover this front (and maybe facebook), than yes, pinterest is a good option, a good pin could generate audience for years.
