Sure, I think the quality backlinks are much harder to come by than they used to be. Finding the relevant websites seems to be a lot more difficult these days.

Easy backlinks are everywhere but genuinely relevant, authoritative links are much harder to earn.

Most of the new websites never show up in SERPs, so the visibility is almost zero. Most of the established sites prefer to give backlinks only to high authority sites unless your site is a source of information. Most of the webmasters ignore emails seeking backlinks. So, the chances of getting white hat backlinks are negligible.
If you are looking for black hat backlinks, then sorting link providers based on quality, long-term value, and relevance is a tedious task. What makes things even worse is the lack of credible sources that point us to the right direction. So, you need to do your own research and can't rely on AI tools like chatgpt.

I think it's not harder, just different.

Yeah, quality backlinks seem harder to earn than before. More sites are selective, and generic outreach gets ignored. Relevant, genuinely useful content and personalized outreach seem to work much better than mass link-building.

Yes, good backlinks are definitely getting harder to acquire. Also, good sites are harder to reach when there’s no clear connection between the two websites.
Relevant content, a useful resource, and a natural reason to mention your site can make outreach much easier.

I’d say it’s definitely getting harder to find good backlinks, not necessarily harder to find backlinks in general. Most of the easy opportunities are already saturated, while relevant placements with real traffic are much harder to secure.
I’ve been working with some interesting link-building sources myself, so if you’re comparing different approaches, happy to share what’s been working for me.

new sites have trouble gaining any visibility in SERPS initially and it could be tough to get good backlinks.established sites usually like to link to other sources or websites which have more authority and many webmasters tend to neglect email queries.even in case of hunting down another opportunity for links it is quite timeconsuming to judge quality relevance and longevity.i think it is always better to conduct research on your own instead of solely relying on AI tools like ChatGPT.

Links have become currency. It's like asking for free money.

With all the AI slop being generated, there's less need to link to any other pages, so naturally there are fewer links. Also everything is getting centralized on fewer and fewer (yet bigger) platforms which generally tend to be no-follow. But it's pretty much like 15 years ago, just build your owns PBNs and pass everything through them in tiers.
EDIT Just noticed it's a white hat section lol. The question is - whether you care about ranking or being compliant.

Good-quality backlinks are harder to get nowadays. There are still plenty of sites providing backlinks, but finding genuinely relevant sites alongwith real traffic and a clean link profile is quite harder..........................
