What types of websites have seen ranking gains or drops after the August 2026 Google update? Which SEO factors seem to be driving these changes, and what patterns are you noticing?

More volatility on thin/AI sites and stabilty on those that have more original content and actual branding, However, I would hold off on identifying any particular SEO issue until after this rollout is done.

trend that have been recognized. site that exhibit real brand characteristic nd original content seem to be performing better, although I fel it is still too early to reach any conclusion
the same trends apply to me it's too early to make any comment about it. based on my observations, website with greater substance, metrics nd uniqueness perform better than those with keywords.

I see the same phenomenon, Sites that have a clearly defined brand identity and provide original material on one topic appear to be more stable; however, I would need more evidence to declare it a trend.

The clearest pattern so far seems to be low-originality/scaled content and weak search-intent alignment losing visibility, while genuinely useful but it’s still too early to call these definitive patterns.
I’ve noticed the same thing on a few sites. I’m watching search intent and content originality closely before making any major changes, since the update still needs more time to settle.This matches the discussion’s focus on search intent, originality, and waiting for clearer patterns.

Google started showing a clear preference for branding and authority. If people are not searching for your brand (brand searches) or not preferring it over others (CTR), then your chances of ranking drastically fall.

the content developed through AI which had been scaled was created. tbh, the deployment take only about 2 to 3 day so make sure your GSC sync is done before doing anything.
the august spam update hit heavy programmatic content and mass AI sites pretty hard. sites that just regurgitated SERP content with no real firsthand value or proper schema took the hit, while smaller lean sites with clean intent match and actual unique data held steady or picked up ground.

It was just a spam update with the short term effect to prevent AI abuse nd pSEO. If your content is legit and intent driven, there should be no issue—just perform an audit in GSC before making any changes.
