I trust the gut feeling for small changes like internal links or titles, but for bigger changes I prefer to check the data first. Experience helps, but data keeps you from overreacting.
Gut feelings are vry helpful in identifying potential problems but I does not consider them to be proof. i will implement the change and monitor the numbers to finds out whether my hypothesis turned out to be correct.Like something you just have a feeling of certain page needs more internal links , or a title needs changing , or a piece of content wont perform well- before any data even show it.
Do you act on that gut feeling right away or do you always wait for analytics/rankings to confirm it first...
