Anyone else noticing that Online Reputation Management is becoming as important as SEO in 2026?

With AI tools monitoring brand mentions, reviews, and even social sentiment in real-time, one negative post can spread fast. Smart marketers are now investing in ORM strategies like review optimization, branded content, and authority profiles.

Do you think ORM will become a core SEO service this year?

Yeah, I’m seeing the same thing. ORM is starting to blend with SEO more than ever. Search results are not just websites anymore. You’ve got reviews, Reddit threads, social posts, and news articles all showing up for brand searches. If something negative ranks, it can hurt just as much as poor SEO. A lot of agencies are already treating ORM as part of SEO, especially for branded keywords. So yeah, I think it’s definitely becoming a core service.

ORM is more important than seo as if you have negative content rank on Google for your brand, your sells will be so much low.

ORM seems to be getting more important. A few good reviews definitely help, but I think actually responding to people matters too.

ORM and SEO are entirely different from one another actually

But yes ORM is more essential.

1. Because people tend to look up a brand before purchasing. Prospective employees check before accepting an offer to join

2. AI engines tend to pull out everything from the internet and it becomes important to set narrative. It's easier playing offensive instead of defensive.

SEO on the other hand is for generating sales, traffic etc

So to answer your OP, both are different. ORM on the other hand is gaining importance. Will continue to do so
