I don't know how to make friends online.

You sounds right but to be honest
There's no way you won't make a friendship online except you're not ready to grow in all areas of your skills.

That's right. Anyone can be a target. I'm always wary when strangers approach me to strike up a conversation.

In all honesty, friendhips online do develop naturally through repeated exposure and participation Never jump into trusting someone too quickly either, but let them earn it gradually.

Indeed, interacting frequently is definitly one of the easiest ways of making new friends join communties for things you care about and engage rather than just talking.
Building trust online taks time, thus I would be casual at first.

Sure, begin by chatting about something that you both like rather than making an attempt at becoming friends right away.
It takes time too the online crowd is pretty quick to figure out who’s real and who’s not.

#1: The internet---and the, 'real world'---have always been filled with bad humans. You should not try to make friends; making friends naturally is a better approach. Being alone is better than forcing company, since such company risks being awkward.
---
#11: There is no need to make a post just to state, 'I agree'; the like button suffices.

The Internet is too broad. Try to narrow it down into a forum, community, telegram chat... where both of you share the same interest. It's way easier then. Don't rush it at this point either, try to recognize people and be recognized by your contributions, then they'll be more receptive to chat in private with you.

The key is joining small, niche communities centered around specific interests rather than trying to meet people in broad public spaces. Comment regularly, share genuine progress or help others solve small problems without expecting anything in return. Online friendships usually happen naturally when you consistently interact with the same core group over time. : cool :

These days, the internet is full of bad people; it's really hard to make friends now.
Yo I also agree that it is very hard to make friends online as they only look to get advantage from you.Since then I lost interest in making friends online instead I make friends whom I can meet irl.

Feeling cautious online is completely valid. It takes real effort to stay open while protecting yourself, but good people are out there if you know where to find them.
