I found groups to work better for me than just straight promotion pages since you get to create a relationship before even selling anything.
imo making money from the site becomes much easier when people already view the page as being useful.

Yes building up your reputation as an authority in a certain niche, can lead you to more clients and you can increase the profit of your products or services higher. For me ads work fairly well for my pest control business, but I also have 1 page and can post to landowning groups and pages freely and get more clients from them that way.

You can start with existing groups to learn what people actually respond to, but for long-term control I’d build your own group too. Just don’t treat other groups as traffic sources only.
