Does Reddit make it harder for Subreddits to Grow after they reach 50,000 subscribers or some other milestone?

I've noticed lag when my subs hit that particular number. It's almost like they 'verify' content or something more frequently and during that scan period, it seems to limit reach. Then it pops back like nothing happen and repeats each month.

Anyone else noticed this?

Never noticed 50k specifically causing it. Reddit reach can be pretty inconsistent, so it could just look connected to the milestone when it’s really normal fluctuations in traffic.
