Hi everyone,
From your experience, what’s the most common mistake beginners make when starting in online marketing?
Is it chasing too many methods at once, expecting quick results, or not focusing enough on building real skills first?
I’m curious to hear what experienced members here have seen over the years and what advice you would give to someone just starting out.
Looking forward to your insights.

The "spray and pray" approach is the biggest mistake. You need to know the target audience before starting anything in internet marketing. Another mistake is expecting instant success and then many quit after a few weeks of not seeing results.
60% of global web traffic is now occurring on mobile devices, so neglecting mobile optimization is a blunder.

The biggest mistake is trying too many methods at once. Most beginners jump from SEO to ads to affiliate without mastering one. Pick one traffic source, learn it deeply, test consistently, and results usually come much faster.

i think the biggest mistake is trying too many things at once and expecting quick results and also it’s better to focus on one skill learn it properly and also improve with time.

The biggest mistake I did was " I left in between" and loss the trafiic of my site. We have to be keep continue to promote.

Not blindly following SOPs or copying what everyone else is doing in the market. I prefer working based on my own insights and observations — something I rarely recommend to others.

It should all start from skills. Don't follow the hype. Bend your head, avoid the noise, learn and practice. The reason we sometimes have mediocre marketers is they follow the noise and hype and end up jumping from one strategy they haven't mastered to another. Once your knowledge is grounded and rock-solid, you will realize you have come so far up the ladder.

The most common mistake is not having patience with 1 method, and quiting too early before positive results come.

The biggest mistake online marketing beginners make is trying to sell to everyone without a clear understanding of their target audience. When you're targeting a vague crowd, your budget is wasted, and your advertising messages don't resonate.

Yeah @blumen made a great point about tracking, but there is another huge thing people ignore. They start running traffic with just one ad account or one domain and zero backups. The second they get flagged or banned, they panic and think the method is dead. You have to realize that accounts and domains are disposable assets in this game. If you dont have a setup for backup accounts and managing proxies from the start, you are basically setting yourself up to fail the moment you try to scale.

I thinks Not having patience is biggest mistake beginners do. they think results will appear overnight but it's a myth. My advise for beginner will be focusing on building a brand while creating a content that actually useful for your audience. this are the core principles of the online marketing for the long term growth.. also please understand your target audience as well..

Common mistakes I often see include: placing too much emphasis on the user interface (UI), expecting results too quickly, failing to learn how to read data, and copying source code without fully understanding it.

Yeah @xSERPICOx hit a major point there... infrastructure is everything if you are doing anything slightly grey. but another huge trap is budget management. people come in with like $200 thinking they will turn it into $10k in a week. they blow the whole $200 on one single campaign, it fails, and then they quit because they are broke. you need to treat your budget like a runway and split it so you can afford to fail at least 5 or 10 times before you find a winning angle. if you cant afford to lose the money you are testing with, you probably shouldn't be doing paid traffic yet.

Something i see all the time is beginners trying to be too creative and reinventing the wheel. They spend weeks trying to come up with some brand new angle or landing page design from scratch. In reality you should just be using spy tools to see what is already active and making money, then reverse engineer it. If an ad has been running for three weeks, it means the guy is making profit. Just copy the flow, tweak the creatives a bit so you aren't completely stealing, and test it. Save the creativity for when you actually have consistent revenue coming in...

I think big mistake is trying to do everything at once. pick one method learn it properly and give it enough time to work before jumping to the next thing.

Learn one skill A to Z. Which you can do you learn it. Spend your time on this skill. When you pro level, then you can start your journey; then you can achieve.

for me it's analysis paralysis. so many beginners spend months reading threads, buying courses, and trying to plan the perfect campaign because they're terrified of losing fifty bucks or getting an account banned. you learn ten times faster by actually putting up a cheap, ugly lander and buying some dirty traffic to see where it breaks. this isn't school... you gotta be willing to break things and lose a bit of cash to actually understand how the plumbing works.

I don’t just follow the usual steps or do what everyone else is doing. I like to learn from what I see, test my own ideas and make decisions based on what works for me.

honestly its focusing way too much on tools and software instead of the actual offer. people spend hundreds on fancy trackers and spy tools before they even know how to write a headline that converts... you don't need a massive tech stack to start.

I prefer working on my own and making my own strategies rather than being accused of copying someone else work.secondly I would use a great tools which will help my master me in online marketing.
