I've been biting them ever since I was 13 years old.

Sometimes it gets infected as well but I think I need to stop.

Some peeps on Reddit said to get some sort of plaster thingy so maybe I'll look into that.

Currently I spin this ds stylus around and it helps a little bit but I'm like the Borg and have adapted to this.

Nail munchies still happen unfortunately.

Use a nail cutter tool? I mean,

i knew there was a reason to say dont do it. But people belittled what i said. The men said it was girly only women or girls listen. Iam starting to think your butt shaving thread wasnt a mere hypothetical now...

Cut your nails with a nail clipper

Then us an emery board to sand them smooth

Right now use that emery board to smooth down all the destroyed/chewed parts
Only then can they start to regrow...and as they start to regrow, emery board them
smooth again

Smooth them down as they regrow and keep them smoothed down so there
isn't any room to chew them again

Sincerely,

The Eye

I think if it's a habit, have you tried replacing it with reaching for a fidget cube or a sugar-free gum?

I stopped biting my nails on covid because it was mandatory to wear a mask practically all day. Maybe you can try that.
But as a member pointed out it's not a good health sign and maybe stems from another issue like anxiety.

Crippling social anxiety, indeed.

But I'm working on that.

Guess this habit just stuck around.
Keep working on it and don't give up.
I feel you because I also suffer from bad anxiety but slowly (and with help) things get better.

You need to start some meditation and breathing exercises, I know it may sound like superstition to you. But its going to improve your mental health and you wont be feeling like biting nails. its slow but a permanent fix.

For starters get those fidget or similar click devices to divert your this habit. It may sound like a simple stuff, i just mentioned, but trust me its going to fix your issue.

My wife used to do this too. Now, whenever I notice her biting her nails, I just grab the nail clipper and trim them. It's a lot harder to bite them when there's nothing left to bite.

1000022168.jpglate on this, but this is your answer. Stopped even the most stubborn kid. You will darn near gag and throw up if you continue, so you will stop. No affilliation!

I used to do this. I found addressing the underlying issue that was causing me to do it (crazy social anxiety) + then removing the ability to do it (cutting your nails realy short) was the only thing that worked. I've been there - all the best to you!

Plaster to mouth - lol

just pulling your leg ya. Jokes apart , there is some mediations in the market to ged rid from this habbit but should be consulted once before go,

guessed , right now you are not bitting your nails ...

I used to bite nails when I was younger but I have stopped later on. I didn't do any alternatives though. I just stopped when I have decided. May be you can try Chewing Gum whenever you wants to bite your nails.

I tried to do everything i use to take all precautions but once it is expired or once i stop using it i again start biting nails
