I would concentrate on making reels that can be independent of u as an influencer gud opening in the first 1 to2 seconds captions that can be searched and content that people will wants to save or share. paid ads are not necessary in my opinion.

In my opinion, Reels are currently one of the best ways to increase organic reach on Instagram. Focus on creating high-quality Reels, and you might be surprised by the results.
 
Try collaborations with artists and creators from different countries to open new audiences reels can also help content reach non followers when people engage with it naturally.
Track which countries and content types bring new viewers then make more of those.

Collab posts with other artists or art pages can be really useful here. One good collab can bring a lot of new people without spending on ads.
 
You dont necessarily need paid ads for non follower reach I would focus on Reels original content strong hooks relevant hashtags and shareable posts Also check your Account Status to make sure your content is eligible for recommendations Consistency and testing different content formats can make a big difference

my plan would be to create some posts that will be meant for those users who are unaware of my account. the process videos, detailed shots nd backstory of an item may prrove to be more effective than just posting the final work of art on the account.

I would advise you to use the Instagram trial feature for a few videos. In this feature, you can share a Reel with people who do not follow you to test how the content performs before showing it to your main audience, and it's free.
 
I’d start with Reels and collabs, for an artist, that’s probably the easiest way to reach people beyond your followers without spending money. Especially behind-the-scenes stuff, the drawing process, some quick before/after shots... that kind of content gets shared pretty easily
