Do you also hate when YouTubers ask you to subscribe in the beginning of a video?

I find it annoying tbh because they usually say it in the beginning of their video.

Why not at the end where I've actually watched your video and can determine if I've received enough value/entertainment from it to warrant subscribing.

Just me?

I think they're using a psychological trick where asking for a small favor first makes people more likely to say yes to them later. Not sure if it actually works, though.

Agreed, at least wait until the middle before begging!

From first few seconds, you have already decided whether you want to subscribe or not so what's the problem if they ask in beginning?

Always i hate it, thats why i use ad blockers to use it properly.

Yeah I feel the same way Asking for a subscription before providing any value can feel a bit forced I think it works better after the creator has delivered something useful and given viewers a reason to subscribe

Yes and I subconsciously forward the video to 3-5 mins. Some time these clowns ask after 5 mins somewhere in the middle.
Some youtubers ads commercials. within the video with no way to skip it.
Some spend 5 minutes trying to warm you up for 5 -10 mins them boom! bloody commercial!!! on how to buy gold using their coupon code and save 10%.
I am paying youtube premium subscription fee to avoid commercials and these clowns are circumventing youtube to show me just that their bloody commercials.

I hate it when they ask me to like the video before I’ve even watched it. How can I like something I haven’t seen? It shows that they only care about getting likes, not whether you actually liked the video.

not only u but it is really better when they subscribe on their own. in case the video is really good then u would definitely subscribe after all that. putting up such a request at the begining makes me feel like the CTA is before the actual content.

Classic YouTube as a job paradox. They play different game than you. They're chasing engagement and platform specific growth. Fools addicted to reactions and dopamine spikes.

Timing is everything the subscribe prompt isn’t the issue for me it is when they uses it. If they interrupt the hook with it, I am ready to click skip.

I hate it. this should at the very end of the video. but thee creators now a days becomes to creative to ask for subscription. Rather than asking direct they create some kind of comedy script around them. some uses emotional messaging for subscription. And I loved that part.
