Do you check for search intent drift before rewriting old content, or does a general refresh usually cover it?

Wording stays the same, but what searchers actually want can shift over time. Curious if that's a deliberate check for you or not.

I think checking search intent first is important A simple content refresh may improve the page but it will not help much if the searcher’s expectations have changed

I always check search intent drift first. A general content refresh won't help much if Google now favors a different type of page for that query.

I compare the current SERP with the old intent, then decide whether the page needs a light refresh

I will check search intent first. A basic refresh can miss a shift in what users want so just compare the current SERP and top ranking pages before rewritting.

i tend to assess the search intent first off especially with aged content. updating ur content will not necessarily give you the proper results if u are answering the wrong questiion with the updated content, so i check the current SERP first.
