I wish I hadn't been so preoccupied with the bottom line when it came to sales volume.

I sold my account for about 10x the store was netting me. Cost me my ability to sell on eBay. Was using dropship plugin I was using. So I guess I shouldn't have sold it, now though I just want my own general store that can't be messed with aside from POS side. Platforms take their cut. On a cleaner exit with a count in better standing I maybe could have obtained 5k. Still though it seems the accounts are not sold for selling.
I'm still open to selling on Amazon. Walmart I found stuck me with the shipping costs every time which killed profits on low tier items.

I wish I knew how quickly return costs and hidden fee slabs can eat into thin profit margins. Always calculate tracked shipping, packaging, and final value fees into your pricing before listing anything. Focus heavily on detailed photos and exact condition notes to avoid unnecessary disputes.

don't buy a large amount of inventory before testing demand. I learn that one the expensive way.

Definitely! I was getting wholesale assortments and some were moving fast then others were taking way longer to move. I wound up donating a bunch of toys to the children's hospital because I overbought on slow moving inventory on gut feeling.
EBay has product research tool with product sales number. I have wholesale directories and AMZScout though may be interested in other ways to find best sellers.

1. Dont use copyrighted term in listing title/description. I had popular items that got attention of big company and they complained about me and got my listings deleted for comparing my item to their model. Cost me a lot of potential sales to start over since those listings had many sold and many watching.
2. Dont dropship outfits for special occassion or costumes. If delivery is late, it will ruin someones day more than regular item. Only 1 time I had late delivery and it was this reason and I felt bad even after refund.

Make sure to take nice quality pics, I’ve seen people sell the same item for more just because the images look better haha
