The proxy itself runs on an Android phone (that's where the SIM card and mobile connection live), but you USE it from any device: desktop, laptop, browser, antidetect, scripts, whatever. You just connect to the proxy endpoint (HTTP/SOCKS5) from your machine like any other proxy.

As for the difference with residential (RDB): residential IPs come from home ISP networks, often shared through SDK pools with hundreds of users on the same IP. Mobile proxies run on real carrier networks (T-Mobile, Vodafone, etc.) through CGNAT, which means platforms treat them with much higher trust since blocking a carrier IP would affect thousands of real subscribers. Better for multi-accounting, ad accounts, social media, basically anything where trust score matters (◕‿◕)

For most mobile proxy jobs HTTP vs SOCKS5 barely matters. Scraping's all TCP, HTTP CONNECT handles it. You only need SOCKS5 for UDP: QUIC, WebRTC, HTTP/3. Neither encrypts (that's TLS), so "SOCKS5 is safer" is a myth :/ iProxy gives you both on real phone with a SIM, 10 ports Basic, 20 Pro.

That matters far more than "anonymity level" rating people obsess over. Datacenter IPs get flagged constantly; mobile and residential rarely do, because they're full of real users and churn. iProxy puts you on a real phone with a SIM, so you're in the category that gets a pass by default.

⚠ Someone's selling you a mobile proxy that "changes IP every second". Is that even a real thing? Short answer, no, and it helps to split "how fast" into three separate questions.

One: rotation floor, the fastest you can force a change, which is a radio detach/reattach plus your command, a few seconds at best. Two: how long a line holds one IP if you leave it alone, that's carrier policy, minutes to hours. Three: whether the carrier swaps your IP on its own, which on an active line we basically never see on a seconds scale. Those tidy 60/300/600-second spikes people "observe"? That's their own rotation timer, not the network.
