I have two channels facing different situations that require comment deletion:

1) Spammers - on my crypto channel, they appear to spam scams and promote some kind of scheme. I delete them.
2) Haters - on my personal channel, some guys show up to insult me, I delete them.

Do you think it will hurt my video performance or deleting comments is totally normal and well accepted by YT algorithm?

I leave the hater comments up.

If you've got haters it means you're doing something right ;).

I doubt it would damage your video performance though.

Deleting spam or abusive comments is normal and should not be a problem I’d remove obvious scams and harassment while keeping genuine comments even if they disagree with you

I don't think it will significantly impact your channel's performance; however, you should delete scam-related comments, as they affect not only you but also your followers. As for negative comments, consider the content of the feedback and view it as constructive criticism.

Nah, deleting comments is totally normal. I delete spam/scam comments immediately, and for haters, if they're just insulting and adding nothing, I'd delete those too. It hasn't hurt my videos.

If you have hundreds of comments and you delete 10 it's fine, but if you have less than 100 you've removed 10% of your comments so unless they're scammy I would leave them up

Not really. If they are negative comments, that often makes the new viewers think of you/the video negatively and click away. That loss in trust and probably watch time will hurt you much more than deleting comments.

spam scam removal is not an issue for me personally. abusive comments removal is fine on a personal page as well, engaggement is not something i would care much about when maintaining a decent discussion forum.

it wont affect your video though it could trigger certain reaction and unwanted attention

For the personl channel, you can also hide users who keep coming back. thay may be easier than deleting the same type of comment everyday.

Nobody knows this, only tests can give you real data.

BUT, you have 2 more options to do:

1. report haters comments, instead of deleting them - just click "Report" for harassment and insults and youtube most likely will delete them.

2. BETTER answer haters without insults, answer politely, and this will create 10x more trust in you from people that read the comments. When I read polite answers under insults I have way more respect for the author than had before reading them, so it's a superpower that haters give you.

About scammers, of course delete them :)

Good luck

I would not keep nasty comments purely for the purpose of the statistics. In case of any criticism I would keep the comment while anything that is related to scams will be deleted immediately.

nop .usually leave those comments some negative comments can actually bring more engagement and make discussion more active.
