For me, it’s a combination rather than one tactic. Solid technical SEO first, then strong topical content and relevant backlinks. The biggest difference I’ve seen is when the content actually satisfies search intent and the links are contextually relevant—not just high-metric sites.

But seriously i has seen more actions in optimising the pages which are currently on page 2 to 3 rather than producing the new posts. small tweaks to the intent and some better internal links would do wonders.

For me, Technical SEO and good content are still the foundation, While backlink's help when they’re relevant and earned naturally, Topical authority also seems to make a noticeable difference once the basics are solid.

I completely agree with @OnlineProxy regarding firsthand testing and original data. Mass publishing rehashed info just doesn't cut it anymore.

What is actually moving the needle for me right now is running empirical data tracking campaigns to analyze algorithmic pattern recognition. Instead of guessing what works, I have been tracking performance metrics across dozens of distinct test cases to generate my own proprietary data.

Building your content and topical clusters around that kind of real-world information gain—stuff that competitors cannot just scrape and spin with an LLM—is exactly what engines (both traditional search and AI citations) are rewarding right now.

Combining topical authority and original user data or EEAT seems to be doing all the work for me currently. google is mercilesslly destroying any generic AI websites, and unless you have actual testing results or unique images, links can not help you at all.

I’m Getting the best results from a mix rather than one tactic, Solid technical SEO and useful content come first, Then internal linking and a few relevant backlinks to support the pages that matter.

One thing that’s been working surprisingly well for me is refreshing older content. Updating outdated sections, improving intent match, adding useful information and strengthening internal links has brought some pages back to life. Curious if others are seeing the same thing.

tbh I had done better at getting pages that were currently generating impressions rather than publishing pages every week. get the pages which are close to making page 1 optimise them for the exact queries and see the how it pans out.
