I’m still relatively new to the community and have been spending time learning different SEO approaches.

For those who have been doing SEO for a while, what strategy is currently giving you the best results technical SEO, content, backlinks, topical authority, or something else?

Would be interested to hear what’s actually working for people in 2026.

What you said above is all correct. I want to add 1 more feature to wrap up this "AISEO": getting listed/cited on Google Ai overview, Chatgpt, Gemini, Perplexity, etc.

For me, technical seo be the first as clean crawling, indexing, internal linking and fixing cannibalization then built of an topical coverage and earn relevant backlinks. And i found tactics I have found interesting lately was combining brand mentioning with ai citation, especially for strengthening visibility beyond traditional SERPs.

IMO, it's less about one tactic winning and more about getting the fundamentals working together. Technical SEO is the foundation, topical authority/content creates relevance, and quality backlinks
building a strong topic cluster, making the content genuinely useful, then earning relevant links to the pages that actually deserve them.

Nowadays i have been noticing the best out comes when using gud content combined with internal linking and creating some related back links for pages that has already proven their worth. Straight link building do not really seems to work anymore.

We're seeing the best results from strong content, relevant backlinks, and GEO for AI search.

Optimizing content for AI citations while building topical authority and brand mentions has helped us get visibility beyond Google results.

Different approaches work for different people at different times. You've stated all that would work typically. What I would say is, when Ai agents can start quoting you, it means you have come far.

For me topical authority and internal linking is working really well these days. I am getting good results from building depth in one niche and improving my existing pages than just publishing more content.
Tophical authority and ai seo is working like charm these days. find good guest posts from relevant sites that has good ai authority on your niche.

it is both for me nd not a single technique. SEO should be good technically after that improve existing content nd add topic depth to it. backlinks do help however, in my experience, relevance nd quality count much more than having a largge number of links.

For me, good content and strong internal linking are still working well. Backlinks can help too, but I think they work better when the site already has a solid base. What are you seeing work best for newer sites?

I think that the combination works best for me proper technicalities, gud content and then relevant back links. topic Authority is useful but I would not depend on it alone.

Internal linking has also been working well. It is not a quick trick, but a better site structure makes it easier to connect related topics.

New updates in SEO 2026 focus on original content. So your main priority is informative content. You can also internal link to a good-authority site.

Mass publishing generic content is far less reliable now, so the biggest difference comes from actual information gain like firsthand testing, original data, or unique angles that competitors cannot easily rephrase. In my experience, building tight topical clusters and pruning dead weight pages has been more effective for overall site health than blindly buying links. Technical SEO and solid links are still the essential baseline, but original insights and brand demand are what keep traffic flowing when AI search answers basic questions directly on the results page.

For me optimising AI content and good internal linking works better. it helps to build authority of my site.

For me, the best results in 2026 are coming from quality content , topical authority , relevant backlinks with technical SEO as the foundation and GEO for AI search.

I’d focus less on volume and more on search intent, strong internal linking, topical relevance and high-quality contextual links.

If one considers my viewpoint, it is quite logical for me to solve technical issue first nd move forward with content nd internal link optimization. backlink can work well if the basis is strong enough.

I’d probably put topical relevance and content quality first, but only after making sure the technical basics are in place. A site can have great backlinks, but if the content doesn't properly cover what people are searching for, those links won't solve everything. For me, the strongest approach is building useful content around a clear topic, connecting it properly with internal links, and then earning relevant authority over time.

One thing that give me better results was improving pages that are already close to ranking instead of starting new ones all the time.
