Would you actually take a flying taxi?

Guys, remember those futuristic cities in movies like Total Recall, where flying vehicles were just part of everyday life?

For years, that felt like pure science fiction.

Now Japan, China, India, the US, and others are developing eVTOL aircraft, so that future doesn't seem quite as crazy anymore.

Imagine waking up, skipping the traffic and flying straight to work.

If it was affordable would you try it guys?

insurance and local regulations are gonna kill this for the average person. even if the tech gets cheap enough, the liability of flying over populated areas is going to be insane. id definitely try it if it was somehow affordable but realistically we will just see ultra rich guys using them as glorified helicopters while the rest of us stay stuck in ground traffic...

It would require some very strict regulations to make that work... if it ever becomes a thing in the future.

It's fun to envisage the fun part of it but the danger that comes along with it too is crazy to think about... It could easily turn into bombs dropping from the sky : D

Because trust me, it will only be a matter of time before there is traffic in the air as well or not everyone will be authorized to fly wherever they want

Another thing might be that getting a license would probably be really hard, to the point that not everyone could even do it, even if they had the money to buy the actual thing

I actually watched a YouTuber flying one of these big-ass drones sometime last month and even lifting himself up with it.

And just imagine many of those flying around in the air all at once... There would be a high chance of them colliding and crashing, and guess who would suffer from the impact too... yeah, people on the ground as well.

I had to go look for the video : D

If their record is safe enough, then I will give it a try. yes, it surely seem like an amazing convenience, but definitely it is going to depend on the regulation, the noise nd the public safety part of it.

Why not? I would try it if it was affordable(but definitely won't be affordable). Before trying I would wait for few weeks will it be safer, and will see are they actually traveling without much accidents lol.

you are right but you never think those stuffs will only be available for rich and powerful people not any average people will have access to it just like having helicopter just think about it

Would the taxi have cameras on the inside?

Or can I goon in there whilst flying to wherever?

I probably won’t ride an air taxi for the time being. For one thing, I’m concerned about flight safety, operational noise and the soundness of air traffic control. For another, the pricing will definitely be high in the initial stage, resulting in poor cost performance. I’d only be willing to give it a try when the technology is fully mature, accident risks are well under control, and fares become affordable for the general public. It might be countless years down the line, though.

If there were as many “vehicles” in the sky as there are on the ground, the accident rate would definitely increase. And if an accident happened, the injuries could be much more serious than on the ground. For now, I don’t think I would want to try it!
