What do you think about running blogs just to build own backlinks?

Basically it is very easy to ship an astro js blog and serve daily post. Good content would be a must but for a few bucks just buying domains anyone would have a backlink farm to grow own website.

It's call pbn and yes many seo do this, build their own pbn instead of buying links. There is a tradeoff of time vs money. If you wanna save time you buy. If you go plenty of time you build your own pbn network.

What you are describing is basically a PBN. I have been running them for years, so here's the honest take.
cheap new domains + daily posts are not the same as a properly built network. The problem isn't Astro or hosting cost, it's building sites with no real history or value beyond passing links.
What has held up better in my experience is aged domains with genuine topical history, rebuilt as real sites with proper content and development before they are used for outbound SEO.

That costs more time and money.

I do not think cheap version works for people for years. The properly built version can still work, but it's not the $5 and a few posts shortcut it sounds like from the outside.
the hard part isn't building the blogs. it's building sites that can actually stand on their own.

yesh the low costs nd automation may seem appealing but i think the real problem lies in making sure that the domains are useful and credible. a lot of small blogs with irrelevant back links might look great on paper but i do not think they will be very valuablle for long.

yes it is called PBN but you need to have a quality content and that will be informative or a new discovery of new thing because blog is hard to rank recently

it can work as a supporting asset, but I wouldn't build dozens of blogs purely for backlinks. Once the sites exist mainly to manipulate rankings, you're taking on a lot of maintenance and footprint risk.

If you do build them, I'd make each site a genuinely useful niche property with unique content, real audience value, and independent topical relevance. Then any links to your main site are a natural part of the ecosystem rather than the sole reason the sites exist.

I think it can work short term, but building blogs only for backlinks can become risky. Focus on useful sites, real topics, and natural links instead of creating backlink farms.

It could serve as a controlled link source, but I woudn't just assume that a bunch of new domains automatically provides good backlinks. IMHO, domain history and tru topic value count for a lot more than simply posting every day.
