I’ve been questioning everything I thought I knew about niche sites, specifically around the push for extreme transparency and E-E-A-T. I want to challenge the assumption that we can still hide behind a brand name or a stock photo and expect to rank for competitive terms. It feels like the era of the “faceless authority” is officially over, with the algorithm heavily favoring content tied to a verifiable, real-world human with a digital footprint.
I’m seeing massive sites tank because they lack a clear “Who” behind the “What,” even when the content itself is technically perfect. It’s making me wonder if the risk of staying anonymous now outweighs the privacy benefits, especially for those of us trying to build long-term assets. Have any of you successfully ranked a new brand without a public-facing expert attached to it lately, or are we all being forced to become “influencers” to keep our traffic?
