Is Parasite SEO a genuine SEO strategy, or is it simply using another website’s authority to rank faster?

Imo, i'd call it more of shortcut with tradeoff. Strong third party domains gives published page an initial ranking advantage but relevance, page level authority and content quality still needed. Here downside be that we lose control of host, so content will disappear if the content or platform changes.

parasite seo can work, especially when the host site already has strong authority and relevant traffic.
but personally, i see it more as a shortcut than a long-term strategy. you don't really control the platform, so your rankings can disappear if the page gets removed or the site changes.
 
It can be used as both a genuine SEO strategy and a shortcut to faster rankings. We’ve used it to get content ranking on established sites, especially in grey niches where building a new domain can be difficult.

It works much better when you're adding value to the content.
 
High quality content using top AI models like Fable 5, then blasting back to tier 2 and tier 3 with Opus 5 kind models, is genuinely helpful and much easier to rank. After all, it saves time and has high ROI.

So parasite strategy is really effective, but without using tiered link building to it, you are leaving a lot of money on the table.
 
It can work but the quality of the content still matters using a strong domain alone is not enough.
 
it's a legit smart tactic when u're publishin genuinely good content on platforms that actually welcome it (LinkedIn articles, Medium, industry-relevant subreddits), but it's just a shortcut w/ an expiration date when ur "content" is thin garbage stuffed onto a host domain purely to exploit its DA, n Google's gotten increasingly good at nukin the latter

Parasite SEO works for me. How ..

I usually find keywords with around 50-200 monthly searches and optimize them using different parasites like Medium,Reddit,& Blogger.

I usually create 1500+ words of content.Once my parasite pages are ready,I build some cheap links to blast them.

My website is in the black hat SEO niche, so many times my parasite pages end up ranking better than my own website. I do not mind,though, because they still bring me some traffic.

This strategy has worked well for me so far.

Nice! Sadly many users don't try like you and just claiming and blindly deciding.

Try to build tier 2 and tier 3 links to your para site and you will see how easy to rank tough keywords in no time. The biggest advantage of para sites and tiered link building is it stable on the search engines. Not just google all AEO and SEO engines will love it. I am working on 5 chosen niches and 80% of the assets on these market i dominate that's to this strategy.

I see SEO as a renter rather than an any alternative route. SEO can provide us fast rankings but since you does not have much control over it I will advise against building your entire strategy on it.
 
I’d also be very interested to hear everyone’s thoughts and real-world experiences. On a related note, does anyone know an effective way to improve website speed? I’m open to both tools and professional services, and I’m willing to pay for a reliable solution. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

IMO, Parasite SEO can be a legitimate distribution strategy, but it becomes a shortcut when the only reason for using another site is to exploit its ranking authority.

Google now explicitly treats third-party content published mainly to take advantage of a host site's ranking signals as site reputation abuse.
So I'd look at it this way: relevant, genuinely useful editorial content
