I started doing SEO for a website on both the platforms. While Google picked up in the first week itself, Bing has been weird with a few spikes with a couple of impressions on certain days and no traffic on most of the days. What can I do to get some traffic from Bing?

If you are getting traffic from Google focus on that.
For bing volume is very important find a list of keywords that have decent volume on bing. You can use bing keyword planner or keywordtool.io. content quality is another important factor and lastly submit your site for indexing using bing webmasters tools. Bing is notorious for not indexing sites and links.

This can happen, especially with a new website. I wouldn't assume that Bing is simply ignoring the site at this stage. If you are getting occasional impressions, it means Bing has at least discovered some of your pages.

bing impressions might fluctuate to start with so do not stress about a few spikes. my advice is to get those critical pages indexed nd submit the sitemap via Bing webmaster tools while continuing to create more content. at times, bing just needs more time before impressions stabbilize.

bing is usually slower and less consistent than Google for newer sites.

I have seen this too. Google can bring good traffic while Bing brings little or no traffic. I would focus more on Google, but still make sure Bing can find and read your site.

I'd check Bing Webmaster Tools first: indexing status, crawl errors, search queries, and whether important pages are actually indexed. Bing recommends IndexNow + XML sitemap + strong internal links for discovery.

My approach: fix indexing → improve pages already getting impressions → build relevant authority → monitor Bing data for 4–8 weeks.

If Google is bringing in good traffic, keep it going. With Bing, you need to proactively use Bing Keyword Planner to select keywords with high search volume, improve content quality and you must manually submit your website to Bing Webmaster Tools for indexing, as Bing is very slow and has difficulty automatically scraping data.

However, Bing is not always as quick when it comes to discovering your site. Please make sure that you have already added the sitemap to Bing’s Webmaster Tools and also have a few good backlinks coming in.

I’d first check Bing Webmaster Tools to make sure the site is properly verified and indexed. Also check for crawl or indexing issues, submit the sitemap, and make sure your important pages are accessible to Bingbot. If everything looks fine technically, compare the keywords and pages that perform well on Google with Bing and make sure the content matches the search intent. Bing may take time to build consistent impressions, so I’d monitor it over a few weeks rather than judging it from a few days of data.

there may be some slow speed issues with bing regarding the current sites nd I will begin by investigating any potential indexing nd crawling problem through webmaster tools. when there is indexing, but not many impresions, then the problem is that of a unique keyword demand in Bing.

Google is miles ahead of bing for indexing. So if Google is working keep at it but there is a manual way to get Bing to recognise your site. When you do that, I am sure it will pick.

I think Bing can be a bit unpredictable with new websites I'd probably give it more time and keep publishing content consistently instead of focusing too much on the daily numbers

bing might even be behind google even for new sites. my first step will be to check if the site has been indexed using bing webmaster tools.

Bing can be much slower than Google, particlarly for new sites, Make sure it is indexed in bing webmaster tools, and submit your sitemap; then, really allow a few weeks to pass before making any judgements regarding traffic.

Bing can be pretty unpredictable. I’d just focus on quality content and backlinks and give it some time. It usually picks up eventually.

yes if google is already bringing decent traffic, I would focus on that first. for bing, check indexing, submit your sitemap through Bing webmaster tools, and give it some time.
