Hello SEO experts,
I would like to know one thing from those who are working in the Search Engine optimization (SEO) field. That is, what is the current status of the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) sector in the era of AI in 2026? Because I keep hearing that SEO will gradually disappear. Is SEO gradually losing popularity? And is it becoming completely AI-based? Because, I am doing some research on SEO. But for now, PPC is my main focus. At the same time, will the future of PPC remain the same?

I am expecting the opinions of experienced SEO experts on this matter

SEO is not going away. It is just changing.

AI is helping people create content faster, but Google still needs real, helpful websites. If your site gives clear and useful answers, it can still rank. The problem is not AI. The problem is low quality content.

PPC will also stay strong because it brings fast traffic. SEO is slower but builds long term results. In the future, smart businesses will use both.

AI is just a tool. It cannot replace good strategy and real experience.

Now it’s more about quality, brand, and being useful, not just ranking pages.

my point exactly, there are more information out there which are genuine that AI cant respond to

Yes, I agree. AI has threatened many areas of activity, but smart freelancers know exactly which ones will disappear and which ones will not. I have seen many YouTube channels, especially some South Asian channels, where they have directly said that SEO will not exist in the future. But the logic is - even if SEO disappears at some point, until better AI comes along, at least people will be able to manage their careers properly .

Okay brother, in this context, I want to tell you one thing - is there a demand for backlinks at present and is this backlink working properly? And what role does it play?
 
SEO isn't dying, it's just changing who benefits from it. The people screaming "SEO is dead" are usually the ones who built their whole business on thin content and easy rankings that AI overviews just ate.
What's actually happening - informational traffic is getting crushed by AI answers. If your site existed to answer "what is X" type questions, yeah you're cooked. But transactional and local SEO is largely untouched and in some cases stronger because AI can't replace "book this service" or "buy this product."
The smarter play right now is understanding that Google is becoming an answer engine, not a results engine. That means the sites that survive are the ones with genuine authority, real brand signals, and content that AI can't just summarize away - reviews, comparisons, personal experience, original data.
PPC isn't going anywhere, if anything budgets are shifting there from SEO which means more competition and higher CPCs. Not necessarily good news for PPC either.
 
I don’t think SEO is declining, it’s just evolving. AI is changing how content is created and how search works, but businesses still need visibility in search results. The fundamentals like intent, authority and useful content still matter a lot.

Honestly, SEO isn’t going anywhere, it’s just getting more competitive with AI, if you focus on real value and user intent, you’ll still win long term and while PPC is solid, organic traffic still hits different.
 
Nah, seo isn't disappearing, it's just evolving with AI influencing how content is created and how search engines understand user intent. You'll need to adapt to these changes, focusing more on quality and user experience, and ppc will likely continue to thrive alongside it.

Yes, I also believe that SEO will never disappear. Because when AI came, there was a fear in everyone's mind that AI would have a different and significant impact on every sector. Because, as far as I know, a large number of content writers are already facing a threat to their careers.

The top result is AI result only. Most of the queries search for response on top also. But 2nd and 3 rd place and other placa on top 10 still get good traffic. SEO is needed for this.

From what I’ve seen, SEO is definitely changing with AI, but it doesn’t feel like it’s disappearing. Things like good content and strong backlinks still play a big role in rankings. In my experience working with link building and guest posts, relevant links from real sites still help move pages up.


AI might change how content is created or researched, but the basics of SEO still seem very much alive.
 
Only the information based niches going to see the impact of AI. People nowadays donot search for basic info based queries on Google, they simply ask on chatgpt, answer is precise and to the point. Its somewhat better than, check 4 to 5 articles to actually find the answer.

But product or services based niches are still safe. If you are planning on starting a blog, bad idea. Invest your time and efforts somewhere else.
 
SEO is not dying but AI makes basic stuff easy so low skill work drops. High level strategy and niche sites still need human input. PPC stays relevant cause ads run separate from SEO
 
SEO is not disappearing in 2026 its changing.

Ai has made thinks much faster but business still need organic visibilty, authority and qualified traffic. Bigger change is that SEO is expanding beyond traditional ranking into AI overview.

SEO & PPC solve different problems.

So IMO, SEO is not dying. Low value SEO is.

The reality is that imo SEO is not becoming extinct, rather is undergoing a transformation due to the evolution of AI and the nature of search behavior. PPC will also be affected, but I don’t think either is becoming extinct any time soon.

in reality SEO is not going anywhere any time soon I does not think. AI has taken some clicks but you still have to get discovered where people are searching the methods are evolving but not the need.
