How often are you guys updating old content VS just publishing new stuff?

My preference is publishing new stuff is better than updating old stuff but the new publishing stuff has been good Quality than new publishing get better results.

Old content updating can provide a good boost in ranking while newer content help with fresh content . Both are important especially updating old content i see works good now
