What can I do to better convert profile views into follows?

I have started to kinda find my groove at least for the time being and have done quite well today compared to the past. I doubled my impressions in one day, but after looking around my analytics, I noticed I was converting profile views into follows. What kinds of things would incentivise people to follow? I feel like how I normally use Twitter doesn't align with how most people do (I randomly follow sometimes without seeing posts). Would stronger standalone posts convert, or could it be a branding (bio / header / display name) issue. Sorry if I keep asking very open ended questions.

Could be the profile. If you’re getting profile views but not follows, I’d try a clearer bio and pin your best post. Give people a quick reason to follow when they check you out.
 
Your posts may be doing their job the profile just needs to answer “why follow?” within a few seconds
 
The profile advice above is worth doing, and there's a measurement problem sitting underneath it. Profile views isn't one audience. Some of those people came from a post that landed, and some came from a reply or a notification and are just glancing at the account. Those two convert at very different rates, so on the day your impressions doubled, the mix behind that number changed as well, and that moves your follow rate on its own without anything being wrong with your bio.

So compare like with like before you rewrite anything. Take a handful of posts that pulled similar view counts and look at follows per view on each one, instead of the blended daily figure. If that ratio holds steady and only the daily total moved, the traffic changed and your profile is fine. If it swings between posts, then the profile is what's deciding it and the bio and pin are worth the work.

Creating a welcoming and informative bio and a pinned tweet for the Twitter profile is a must for me.
 
I would highlight the bio section and encourage visitors to hit the subscribe button.
 
Your account is getting attention, but not enough followers yet because you don't have enough engaging content. Keep posting impressive content, and your organic follower count will increase.
 
It's like everything in life. The more obsessed you are with something, the further it seems from your grasp. So, focus on yourself and keep getting better, and people will start to notice and interact.
 
High-quality posts are like billboards that attract customers to a store, while your personal profile is the interior space that determines whether they stay or not.
 
Honestly, I'd look at your profile before changing your content. I've followed people after one good post because their bio made it obvious what I'd keep getting.

A clear bio, a pinned post that shows your best stuff, and staying consistent made a bigger difference for me than trying to force every post to go viral.

Basically you need to set up your profile page to be very interesting in order to make more people follow you.
 
Pinned posts can help a lot too. I'd use one to show your best content or explain what the account is about instead of leaving visitors to figure it out themselves.
 
Maybe give people a clear reason to follow. If they like what they see and know what to expect from future posts, they’re more likely to hit follow.
 
This is generally a better sign than having few impressions, as it means the content was intriguing enough to draw people to your profile. The next step is to optimize the "first 3 seconds" of the profile and give them a reason to want to come back.
 
I'd check the profile first. A clear bio, good header and a few strong recent posts can make the reason to follow much more obvious.
 
bios and pinned posts are fine but if you actually want to force those profile views to convert you need some kind of bait. most people just lurk and leave. try running a thread and use an auto-dm tool to send a resource or a checklist to anyone who retweets and follows. if they have to follow to get the dm, your conversion rate shoots up. otherwise you are just relying on them liking your vibe which is slow...
 
From my point of view, good content matters the most. If people like your posts, they are more likely to follow you.
 
most of the time a sudden spike in impressions just means one post hit the algorithmic feed. if that post was a meme or a hot take and the rest of your feed is totally different, people click through, realize it was a one-off, and leave without following. bio and pinned posts help, but if your overall feed doesn't match the specific post that brought them there, they won't follow. need to make sure the vibe of your recent posts is consistent with whatever got you the views in the first place... otherwise it's just empty traffic.
 
Try posting more around the same topic. If someone likes one of your posts and visits your profile, they should find more similar content there.
