I hve been having a problem with one of my Google Ads campaigns lately.
My daily budget is around $50, but a large part of it gets spent within the first few hours. By the evening, there is very little budget left and the campaign barely gets any traffic.
The campaign was not doing this before, so I’m trying to understand what changed.
I’m not sure if I should adjust the bidding, ad schedule, keywords, or targeting.
Has anyone faced the same issue? What did you change to make the budget last longer throughout the day?

check your search terms report first. google probably opted you into some broad match garbage or close variants, they love doing that lately. if you are on max clicks without a bid cap, it just eats the 50 bucks instantly. i usually setup a portfolio bid strategy and put a hard cap on the max cpc to stop the bleeding. also double check if search partners or display network got toggled back on... those will drain you in minutes.

I think you should check the geographic region and reduce bid adjustments for underperforming locations. That will reduce your budget.

Try switching your ad delivery to target impression share with a budget cap or enable the standard delivery setting if it’s set to accelerated.

I need to see more to help but surely you are doing some of these :

1. Your competitors are spamming your ads (it's normal for high competitive niches)
2. You are using broad match keywords, always add [exact match] ones. My recommendation is 2-3 at once.

Try to create more campaigns with lower budget to test and find the best one. And the other thing is the quality of your landing page. A bad landing can dust your whole budget even it's $10k/day

I would first check which keywords and search terms are using most of the budget because a few expensive clicks can use up a large part of the daily limit It also makes sense to review the bidding strategy and targeting before making big changes to the whole campaign

I've had this happen too. I'd first check the bid strategy, CPC, and keywords.

If CPC has gone up or Google is suddenly matching the ads to more searches, the budget can disappear pretty quickly. I'd look at what's actually consuming the spend and whether those clicks are bringing quality traffic.

If there's useless traffic, I'd narrow the keywords and search terms first.

Also, any recent changes in the campaign

I think checking the bidding and search terms first would help and adjusting the ad schedule or bids during high spend hours can also help the budget last longer.

you can break your day into blocks and lower your bids for the morning hours.

honestly i will suggest checking if the traffic or competition has changed recently and lowering the bids slightly and reviewing high spending keywords may help spread the budget better.

First check the change history in Google Ads to see when this started and what got changed around that time, could be a bid, keyword, or budget change. My guess is either the bid strategy got more aggressive or a new keyword is pulling in more traffic than before. Try adding ad scheduling and lowering bids during peak hours so the budget doesn't run out early in the day.

First of all you must tell us what type of campaign you use, because google ads has video ads, search ads, discovery ads and etc...

Second: what is your bidding strategy? CPC, CPM, TCPA and etc...

To be honest nobody will ever give a real fix without knowing what exactly are your campaign settings/type and etc...

But if you want a guess answer from a professional, here it is:
1. You could target a country that has different time zone, and this is absolutely normal that time zone could be active in a part of the day you think they shouldn't be, because your timezone is different.
2. This is normal that in some parts of the day people are more active than other parts... The most active parts of the day are 11:00 - 13:00 and 17:00 - 19:00
3. Your product is being searched only at a specific time of the day, for example you will get more searches in the morning for real estate agency than late night... and etc..

Did you set a maximum bid for each conversion? maybe you can check if there are any issues in your campaign settings..
Also try to take a look at which keywords are consuming most of the budget and try to make your keywords more targeted and precise

yeah i have seen this too and i would suggest to first check the bidding and search terms and then lower bids a bit if needed and also check ad scheduling and targeting to make sure you’re not getting too much traffic early in the day.

When budget drains unnaturally early in the day, it's usually driven by broad match keyword expansion or automated bidding overspending during early auction spikes. Setting exact match targeting, applying strict negative keyword lists, and using custom ad schedules helps distribute spend evenly throughout the day.
