i have noticed some creators repost their old videos with a slightly different caption like they are new videos, and they get new views. Have you tried this?

Yeah, reuploading old videos with
small changes still works pretty well sometimes.
 
It might be their own trick, but often reposted videos don't get much engagement.

no i dont think it's a good way. i repect someone who's creative

absolutely it works especially for videos that have gained decent engagement but have not gone far enough in terms of visibbility. a change in the caption or something about how the video is positioned will make it seem like a fresh piece of content. however it should not be done for all videos.
 
I’ve had better results when the repost isn’t just a caption change. Changing the opening hook or trimming/rearranging the first few seconds can make the same idea feel much fresher without having to create an entirely new video.

What about if you have Local news cahnnel and you posted old COVID lockdown videos :)

Yeh, I have seen this happen too, especially when the existing video has gud engagement levels. From my point of view, it is much better to change the hook than to change only the caption.
