We spend a lot of time glued to our computer setups. Between daily work and gaming sessions, my eyes used to be locked on a monitor all day. I noticed my focus slipping and realized I needed a strict break from the screen.

What is working incredibly well for me right now is forcing myself completely offline. I make it a point to hit the field and play football every weekend.

Getting away from the desk for a physical reset makes a huge difference. Running around for a few hours wipes out the stress of the week. When Monday arrives, my head is clear and I am genuinely ready to work.

If you feel drained by constant screen time, picking up an active hobby outside the house is worth a try. What do you all do to unplug away from the keyboard? :)

I go watch buffalos and zebras graze

great!!, i am also thinking of adding daily walk in my schedule

It’s either I play football or go for a run, usually.

Once in a while, I go for long walks
Like two weeks ago on Saturday, I went for a 13km walk around my town

I jog 5 km every morning, it's kind of refreshing for me every morning to start a day.

Most times, I go for a run, which is also sometimes on the weekend. I can only do about 5-6 km before I start feeling totally beat : D

I know I can do more km if I really wanted to, but that 5-6 km threshold is just what my mind has become accustomed to
It's not really a physical limitation I believe : )

Nothing beats actual physical exercise for me.
Spending the weekend without the computer screen is definitely a major intent.

I also like to hit a local pub once in a week or so, to play darts and talk bollocks with the local patrons there.

For me, it’s simply going out with my family and spending some quality time together. Getting away from the screen and enjoying a day with the people I love helps me reset completely. I come back feeling much more relaxed and refreshed.

I tried swimming after a long time and planning a few more sessions, really refreshing and helped a lot with stress in my case
That's a great choice. Swimming forces you to completely disconnect since you can't bring a screen into the pool. It gives the exact same mental reset as hitting the football field for me. Glad it's helping you de stress. Enjoy the next few sessions!
I also get away from the desk during the weekend, I bring the laptop to my bed
That's a loophole if I ever saw one! Moving to the bed is definitely more comfortable, but your eyes are still stuck on the screen. You should try leaving the laptop on the desk for just a few hours next weekend and see how a completely offline break feels.
Relatable. Though admittedly, only chores and workout get me off my desk these days...
A workout definitely counts. Getting your blood moving and stepping away from the monitor is the main goal anyway. Chores might not be the most exciting way to disconnect, but they still force you off the screen for a bit. Keep up the workouts.

That's a solid plan. A daily walk is a great way to step away from the desk without needing a lot of extra energy. My work days usually run late, so finding time for daily activities is tough, but even a quick 15 minute stroll makes a difference. Hope you manage to stick with it!

A 13km walk is seriously impressive. That's a huge distance to cover on a Saturday. Football is my main escape too, but I can see how a long walk like that would completely clear your head. It definitely beats sitting at a desk all day.

That's a great morning routine. Knocking out 5km before the day starts sounds incredibly refreshing. With my daily schedule running from 10 AM to 10 PM, I usually lack the early energy for a run, so I save it all for the football field on weekends. Keep up the good habit.

Physical exercise is definitely the best way to unplug. A pub sounds like a great spot to unwind.

My version of that is hitting up a local cafe with friends for some good food and conversation. Just getting out of the house and talking with people is a perfect way to recharge before the new week.
I love hiking on weekends. Breathing fresh air and walking away from screens is such a great recharge.
Hiking is brilliant for that. Getting out into nature and breathing actual fresh air is on another level. Even my weekend football games can't quite match the quiet of a good trail. Sounds like the absolute perfect way to reset before Monday.

That sounds like a perfect weekend. Spending quality time with family is a great way to fully disconnect from work. I usually do the same by grabbing food with friends at some local cafes to relax and catch up. Just being around people you care about is the best way to reset for the new week.
