is it weird to eat the entire apple, core included?

I recently met someone who i witnessed eat the entirety of an apple, core included. When questioned on this he claimed that its totally normally and a lot of people eat the cores of apples.

What does BHW think is this normal behavior or is he a maniac?

It's not normal ? The core is bitter
Only Africans are doing this mostly
 
I would not eat it. Even animals don´t eat it if you give an apple to them.
Same thing with the banana peel. "animals don´t eat it"

Many animals eat banana peels... a ripped one though.

I know especially of this funny creature called a GOAT. You should research them : D
 
The seeds of apples contain some level of acid, and the core tastes sour or bitter. But you should know this: some persons are immune to bitter things. I have a friend that eats blades of aloe vera. Like, he legitimately cuts, washes and chews back gel, slime, bitterness, green and all.
 
It seems I was wrong about the banana peel.
But I would´t eat them. So much toxic chemicals they use to improve shelf life
