Hi everyone

I am currently starting my own digital agency and I have recently launched my new website as well

The website is ready but now I am trying to figure out how to get my first few clients

For those who have started an agency from scratch what worked best for you in the beginning

Did you focus on cold outreach social media freelance platforms referrals seo or paid advertising

I would really appreciate some practical advice from people who have already built an agency and found consistent clients

I’d recommend starting with cold outreach and referrals. Choose a specific niche, send personalized offers, and focus on getting your first 3–5 clients. Once you have results and testimonials, it becomes much easier to grow.

Since you are just starting out, a focus on SEO should'nt be a priority. The time for it will naturally come. Focus on filling your site with enough useful content. Then, talk about what your site is all about on your social media handles and always add the sites' link. This strategy alone can pull potential clients. At the same time, be doing cold outreach. Finally, be patient. Grow gradually.

Definitely paid ads. Digital marketing means paid ads not seo.
Do you have experience with paid ads. Can you generate positive roi. Have you generated positive roi?
Then digital marketing agency is for you.
 
Congrats on launching your agency! Early on, focus on outreach, networking and refferals. Pick a niche, show clear value and start conversations consistently. once you have clients and proof, SEO and ads can help you scale.
 
LinkedIn outreach and paid ads (with limited budget) do it simultaneously to land your first client.
 
For a new agency, I Think targeted outreach works best. Pick one niche, make a simple offers, contact businesses that clearly need help, and use the first few project to build proof.
 
Join business groups in your niche and be active there Give useful advice first instead of directly trying to sell your services.

For a new agency I think getting the first few clients through people you already know can help a lot Once you have some results and reviews finding the next clients gets a bit easier

in relation to the first few clients i would avoid investing too much in marketing efforts nd simply keep things basic. focus on one single service nd one particular niche. get in touch with some firms having that parrticular issue which you can solve for them nd give them an example of what u will do for them.

for reaching out to the first customers, I guess I would focus on networking. find yourself a niche, make them believe that you know their problems nd fight a few battle before using advertising.
 
For a new agency i would avoid trying too many marketing channels at once. Choose a specific industry and service identify companies that could actually benefit from what you offer, and contact them with a personalized message based on their situation. Referrals can help too. Once you have delivered good results and built a few case studies or testimonials, attracting more clients should become much easier.

I have tried Cold Outreach, but my luck was not that good getting good clients, so I moved with Linkedin Sales Navigator and Started using Upwork, for getting new clients, also you can try cold outreach too.. All the best.
 
In 2020 i have started with referrals that work incredibly great for me. some of our initial clients still working with us. so start with referrals and cold outreach while slowly building your own brand and content distribution.. I think this workss in 2026
