Hey everyone,

We have spend years chasing ranking,traffic, Ctr, features snippets,...etc. but now with SGE style search, a site can potentially be shown or cited in the answer without the user ever clicking through.

just curious what everyone think about this..

Imo, AI citations are becoming another important SEO goal, but I wouldn't replace traditional SEO with it yet.

Strong content and authority still seem to be the foundation for getting cited.

i am tired of such update to be honest i was kind of seeing some result before but now i dont even know how i can make my site cited by AI, I believe that is only the fast way now

references made through AI need to be tracked for now, however, the rankings nd click remain relevant. those site that generate authority on these topic nd investigate the topics will definitely do well in searches.

I think AI citations will become another metric to watch, but rankings and clicks still matter. Sites with real expertise and strong topical authority will likely benefit from both.

While rankings do play an important role, being cited or quoted by artificial intelligence in answers may become an additional indicator of your brand's credibility.

i dont think normal rankings are going away but ai visibility is becoming another thing worth watching.getting mentioned in ai answers can still build trust even when nobody clicks site directly. i would keep tracking both instead of thinking one needs to replace the other.

Both matter, the issue with SGE is your site needs to have significant auth to get suggested. That’s the main purpose of quora and Reddit being so popular for posts these days.
