What's the oldest reddit account you have? Does it exhibit any benefits with reach or anything?

My oldest is 9 years old (going on 10).

Yes, my own personal account. I registered many accounts years ago when i was lost to reddit and i dig tthem up when I need something new. So there were gaps in usage maybe twice.

I honestly don't see it getting great benefits on reach just on age alone . Its' better than new accounts but if the account has let's say 2 years and active, always getting engagement, it doesn't tend to outrank much.

HOWEVER< if i stop posting for aweek on both , then make a post ... Yeah, the age seems to get more benefits by far. It seems like reddit gives you a 'welcome back' boost

Aged Reddit accounts can have some advantages, but age alone is not the biggest factor. Reddit mainly looks at account history, karma, engagement quality, posting behavior and how naturally the account participates in communities. i would say the best-performing accounts are usually aged accounts with a natural history.
 
Wow 9 years is amazing. Mine is 11 months old. My main account was banned lol. I need to understand the limits and what is triggering specific actions / words.
 
I was actaully wrong . My oldest acount is 13 years old.

I just wasn't paying attention.

The only real benefit i see of it though is that I think reddit 'respects' the old ones with activity through the years on it. Kinda like a credit score.
 
Oldest one is currently 16 years old but it is my main account I don't post much on it.
The one that is "monetized" is 9 years that one has over ~2.5k posts/comments on it and has few subreddits.

The main benefit would be that any comment/post made with it is usually always up. Also with those old ones I can post I feel like over 50-100 posts a day without issues, which with newer ones with warmup could be possible but much harder.

As for reach like yourself I haven't really noticed any difference that reddit boosts posts that are made by aged accs. It would kind of make sense that reddit would push content from older users but I haven't really noticed it much.
Some newer accs I have sometimes outperform those old ones by a lot.

Though when it comes to being reported there age plays a big difference you can tank much more reports without being banned. Newer ones are more fragile on that part 100%.

Nah I've seen people post their abysmal earnings with the program when it came out, so I didn't bother. Most monetization comes from owning subreddits though, much better to spend energy there than on farming posts for pennies.

I haven't check the program recently those stats were from like late 2024 early 2025 maybe they have improved it.

I saw one guy here say he made $15k or so from Reddit's earning program.

I believe there's ways to get a bag out of that monthly.

I have one account at $15.30 right now . I'm starting to lean into this subject a little.

Old reddit acc has much advantage over new ones because there is some certain things you will do with the old acc that you can't do with the new one, which if you do, they will shadow ban you

Back when I spammed cdkeys and made a whopping £10.

But it did spark my holy smokes you can actually make money online era.

Well it is certainly possible, not sure how they calculate those earnings though? Are they per view basis, per upvote? Seems interesting.
 
8 year old account i have but didnt made much with reddit
 
the credit score thing is spot on. reddit looks at years of consistency not just the signup date. i keep 4-5 aged accounts warm and the filter tolerance is night and day vs fresh ones. one aged account with real history beats 50 fresh ones on auto-removals and reports

They show you you're earnings.

It's mostly based on awards.

So I guess if they make a creator progrma, we're looking at TikTok 2.0. People feed you awards during streams and for real content

And i was wrong people. My oldest account is 14 Years. I have too many accounts lol
 
My oldest Reddit account was created in 2010. I recently logged back into it after a long period of inactivity and was asked to verify my email address. Shortly after I reactivated it, the account was also suspended because it was using the same IP address as a banned account. This made me realize that there don’t seem to be any special privileges for long-standing accounts.

Reddit doesn't even ban IPs ................. in 99.9% of cases

So either you're fabricating a statement here or you don't know how reddit works.

Imagine if they banned the IP of a student library.............. a School............. A starbucks. A mall. A McDonalds.

They aren't crazy. Banning IPs would lead to massive issues.

Only top level marketers get that special treatment. Happened to me once. They found me here on BHW from these posts in 2021:

The account I was using was branded GNews.. they found it. banned it... somehow it got unbanned. Lol Then they banned me again in like 2024 , while I was going hard with crypto marketing. So the risk was known and I didn't care , plus it was worth it.

When they go after an IP.. that means a specialist is watching you, dox, you, study you . Then they try to get everything attached to you that they can.

But I was traveling around for the last like 10 years. So, can't ban the Gingerbread News man.
