What YouTube SEO Factors Have Made the Biggest Difference for You in 2026?

I started a channel last year. I stopped it when my laptop started crapping out on me, and while I want to return to the channel (now that I have a MacBook), I have an idea for another channel I have in mind which will align with something I've been building.
BUT... One thing I did learn from my time with my channel, is that inside your studio, you can see the analytics that show how people watched your videos. You may notice a trend of people dropping out at specific times. This can be very telling. Check that (or those) timestamp(s) in your video and try to get into the head of your viewers. What happens around this point to make them drop off? Think about it from that approach and then see what you can do differently to try to keep people longer. It's really all just a bunch of experimentation, to be honest.

Clear titles relevant keywords and strong audience retention seem to make the biggest difference Good thumbnails help attract viewers but keeping people interested throughout the video usually has a much bigger impact over time

Hi everyone,
I've been following how YouTube search and recommendations continue to evolve, and it seems that some optimization techniques are becoming more effective than others.
For those actively growing YouTube channels:
Which YouTube SEO factors have had the biggest impact for you?
How much importance do you place on titles, thumbnails, watch time, and audience retention?
Have you changed your strategy this year?
I'd love to hear what others are seeing.
Imo are still the two most significant factors. Titles attract clicks, but if people quickly exit from Youyube, then regardless of how optimised the video is, Youtube will stops promoting it.

The observation that i has made regarding this change in youtube is that they are now valuing more the videos which fulfills the audience rather than only putting key words. The factor which have been more important is the ability to grab attention within 30 seconds and keeps people engaged.
