I've been looking into Weibo recently and I'm curious whether it's still a worthwhile platform for marketing and audience growth in 2026, especially for people outside China. Has anyone here used it successfully for promoting a business, building a brand, or driving traffic? I'd love to hear your experiences, any tips, or challenges you've come across.

Weibo's still huge for reaching Chinese audiences specifically, but it's a tough platform for outsiders verification requirements and the language/culture barrier make it more effective if you're targeting the China market directly rather than general global growth.

If you're creating marketing content, I recommend short videos. Weibo's user base is more suited to products targeted at women than men.

I think Weibo is the leading platform for marketing in the Chinese market. It still has a huge user base and remains highly influential today.

In reality, Weibo's marketing capabilities are inferior to Douyin's; Douyin is the true marketing platform.

It really depends on your product. Weibo in China is more like a celebrity and entertainment-focused platform these days, so it can be a good fit if your product is related to entertainment.

If you want to market to the Chinese market, Weibo is still one of the best choices. It remains one of China's leading social media platforms and is a great channel for reaching Chinese users.

In my opinion, Weibo is best suited for brand promotion or attracting traffic within China. If your target audience is outside China, it may not be the most effective platform—unless you're in the travel industry.

It depends. If you want to market your product to the Chinese market, like targeting China. It can still be worth it. But if you just want to see if there is an opportunity to market your product. Maybe short videos like Douyin (China TikTok) will be a good start.
