PBN links still working in 2026 or completely dead now?

Used to run a decent sized private blog network back in 2021-22, was getting solid ranking boosts on money sites without much trouble. Stopped after a while when Google started catching more networks and I got paranoid about footprint issues.

Been seeing mixed opinions lately. Some people say PBNs are basically dead unless you're running them with insane budget and diversity (different hosting, registrars, themes, content quality etc). Others say small tightly built networks with genuinely good content still work fine and fly completely under radar.

Curious what people actually running PBNs right now are seeing. Is it still worth the time and money investment compared to just doing normal guest posting or outreach link building? Or has the risk to reward ratio gotten too bad to justify it anymore.

Also if anyone's had a network deindexed recently, what do you think actually triggered it? Footprint, host overlap, or something else entirely?

Google has become much better at finding patterns. A small mistake across multiple sites can create problems.
 
PBNs are worth it to the extent you hide the fact they are a PBN. If you get lazy, Google will catch you and all of your efforts will be wasted.
 
PBNs can still work, but they need much more effort now. Guest posting feels like a safer choice these days.
 
not as easier as used to be some months back with PBN's. Now buying expired domains and slapping AI content on them will just not work. Google is now very smart at finding these PBN's and devaluing and deindexing them now.

The biggest issue with PBNs is not only hosting or domains, it’s keeping everything looking natural over time. One small pattern can create problems.
 
I think PBNs are not dead, but the easy days are gone. The difference now is quality and how natural the whole setup looks.
 
I feel like they can still be done in some scenarios, but the low hanging fruit is long gone. IMHO it's better for most to spend that money on real marketing unless they know how to mitigate the risks.
 
PBNs can still influence rankings but they're much riskier than they used to be and require significant effort to maintain
 
Some people still make PBNs work, but it depends on experience and resources. Beginners can easily make mistakes with footprints.

PBNs work perfectly fine still. You don't need a crazy budget, but good domains are relatively expensive these days. Don't listen to those AI bots who are repeating the same trash responses.

A PBN built with effort won't get deindexed randomly. Just build a legit looking website, and everything will be fine.

In my view, PBNs have become even more complicated nowadays. working PBN now have to have the right domain selected, quality content nd maintenance as opposed to buying expired domains and links only.

absolutely, yes, I think the idea of using cheap expired domain nd quick content is gone. In case people are still using PBN, the differenc has to be in how hard they work on maintaining the site .
 
I think PBNs still work, but only if they're built carefully The biggest difference now is quality and avoiding obvious footprints
 
PBNs Still work for me, but they're nowhere near as forgiving as they were a few years ago, If you cut corners on hosting, Content, or Footprints, the risk goes up fast, So I only use them as part of a mixed link profile Now.
