Are we finally done with the fake lifestyle influencers?

Every time I open an app I see another twenty year old standing in front of a rented car telling me I need to buy their course to escape the matrix. :D

It's getting ridiculous. Their whole business model is just selling you the idea that they have a successful business. They don't actually build anything. They just sell the dream of building something to people who are genuinely out there working hard.

I respect the daily grind, but the constant fake flexing is exhausting to watch at this point. I instantly scroll past anyone talking about their daily routine or mindset now. Anyone else completely done with this trend? :)

I stopped letting what is on social media affect my perspective a long time ago.

I can't avoid social media completely because I still need it for business and networking but I try as much as possible to filter what I want and what I don't.

That's why most platforms have the "Not Interested" feature.
People just need to learn to use it more so the algo doesn't always push unwanted content in their face

And again, I'm even dismissive of the fact that some of those guys are actually rich and wealthy, but there are just so many doing the fake it till you make it thing nowadays that you can't tell which is which
 
Women don't get these type of influencers ... we just get the 20 something gymfluencer telling us that we all have the same 24 hours in a day
 
I think people are more aware of such schemes now, so these lifestyle gurus need to be more inventive to persuade people. :D

You're completely right. Curating your feed is honestly the only way to survive these platforms, especially when you still need them for business. That "Not Interested" button is an absolute lifesaver.

It's just not worth the time trying to figure out who's genuinely successful and who's just renting a lifestyle for views. Way easier to block out the noise entirely and focus on your own work. :)
 
Haha, I know exactly what you mean. Every other video feels like “I made $50k in a week, here’s my secret” while the secret is usually just selling another course. I don’t mind people sharing success, but the fake luxury and constant hustle speeches get tiring pretty fast
 
I never got that crap back in the day on Facebook, since I had it very curated what comes to my feed.

But now that i need to use Instagram for business purposes I see what you mean.

There's a handful of these influencers, or better to say people with large following on social media that actually make sense and can bring some useful content,
but these are also time-tested, doing it for 10 years or so - so there's a track record in place.

There are those that also run an actual business, and decided to get following on social media.

Recently mostly follow about three personalities, that deal with AI and how to use it to make one's work and life more effective.
