The writing is on the wall to me again.

As I get inundated with messages from spammers from BHW, what I see now is desperation and tons of people who are just hustling without understanding of their target audiences or the niches they are in. They are resorting to any method they can to find and spam customers from BHW, which I'm sure means it's going on elsewhere too. This is only a sample size from our pond.

So based on the desperation, which typically breeds even more stupidity, and the rapid acceleration of Reddit's filters... I have a serious prediction.

Within 6 months, I expect another sweeping Change from Reddit. When exactly, I can't call it, but I smell it's coming.

Who will be affected?

The low-end marketers and all their clients. It will be a massive 'net' cast to round up all the content, profiles, and data, and the bulk of the 'cheap efforts' will be erased, and all data they've published will be used to create one of the most thorough filters yet.

I believe that by the end of the 6 months, new restrictions will be made that will severely limit marketers.

The new Kings will be people who own subeddits and profiles that moderate them.

I think the 'earn' system will become more of a job for many.

Dont put all your eegs in one basket.

Reddit is already tough enough as it is. If they tighten the rules even further, it’ll only make things harder for legitimate users.
 
Your prediction is already real, subreddit owners are already more important than ever, only they can possibly create a long lasting spammy post

Any way, if it gets even worse, maybe it's enough to popularize other parasites and we leave Reddit to find a more lenient place
 
tbh I crosspost so much random garbage I'm amazed I didn't get banned yet.

High karma + daily comment activity seems to increase your account trust score.
 
Those reading this thread should consider advantage of creating high quality accounts. When these spammers get banned, they will automatically look for premium services targeting same platform. Good money can be made here.

This next ban I believe will be so strong...........

Owning accounts wont be the key. 85% will just lose their account(s) trying to market.

The key will be finding someone/a brand dedicated to marketing and delegate the work. It will be such a time consumer to most, you wont want to touch it.

My opinion.
 
Reddit has been getting stricter for a while and low quality spam usually pushes platforms to tighten things further quality and genuine participation will probably matter more over time.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if Reddit keeps tightening things up, but I think it'll be more about filtering low-trust behavior than marketers as a whole. People who build real accounts, contribute to communities, and own established subreddits will probably have a much easier time than those relying on disposable accounts. Diversifying your traffic sources is still good advice though

Disposable accounts are for quick money. That is the target of many members here.

old account and own subreddit will survive on reddit. They are doing their best to keep spam away which making things hard to normal users. On my subreddit i saw many genuine comments deleted due to spam.

Same here.

I've seen a ton of real users get deleted too and I can't even tell why.
 
doubt it, reddit is already so hard for regular users.

Marketers will always find a way. They are more motivated than regular users at this point

i notice thats more likely to happen for normal users, if they participate the large subs(any of the subs on the main/front page is likely places to get banned), niche subs might be more useful.

Most people participate in large subs to start.


I think that's more than normal. But it's weird because if you have success too early in a large sub, you also get banned.

Crazy paradox.
 
Right about the outcome. Wrong about the mechanism.

It won't be one big admin sweep. It's already happening sub by sub, mods tightening automod on age, karma and comment history. No ban to appeal, your post just never shows up.

Or youll have to buy off mods either or reddit might not been the play anymore
 
chunkulus nailed it. its automod silently eating posts now not admin bans. been running aged accounts for 3+ years and the survivors all got real comment history in niche subs before touching big ones. karma alone aint enough, they check age + participation + comment patterns. big subs are walled gardens.
 
@Chunkulus @Salomouna so how much wiill a 5 year old account.. a 10 year old account.. etc.. be valued in the future? Especially the ones regularly active for frequently active
