The film looks like an Oscar-bait and he tried to appeal every section of the panel. The box-office performance and ratings are also good except for a few things people are criticizing. Do you think The Odyssey is Christopher Nolan's best shot at another Oscar?

At this point I'm starting to feel like I'm the only one in the whole wide world that hasn't seen the movie yet : D

I have seen so many people talk about it all the time, including people who just recently watched the movie

you are not alone sir, i am with you

i am the one watching old movies right now

I have watched almost every movie directed by Christopher Nolan. Every movie he created is something else. But 'The Odessy' is also in whole another level. I think it will be also a trump card for Nolan.

As they write in the press, “Odyssey” has the highest chances of becoming a triumphant winner of the future Oscar Award.
- Film Academy's Delight
- Critical acclaim
- Technical excellence
- Acting works

But I see people's comments and they are not enthusiastic about this film. Many people write that it is very drawn out and boring.

I haven’t watched it yet, but I don’t have any desire to go to the cinema yet

I was too busy watching horror gore movies and porn videos, I will try to watch this movie this week to see if it's as good as people say, if not, at least it's valuable material for rule 34

Nolan is popular for designing complex films like a clockwork, giving so much attention to detail. However, Oppenheimer and and The Odyssey feel more like classic Hollywood movies. His mark is missing, that's what most people complain about. But, at the same time, he didn't get the recognition he deserved when he made films like Inception and Interstellar. He is making slow pace movies with a linear storyline so that the members in the panel can understand them :anyway:

Going to see it tomorrow. So hope its as good as everyone says
It is an event film, so enjoy it for the theatrical experience without worrying about historical accuracies. Production quality is good as Nolan prefers practical effects over CGI. The film shows the aftermath of the trojan war, so the basic knowledge of the mythology helps you understand the story better.

Honestly this might be one of his best shots yet. If the Academy feels about it the way audiences clearly do, I could totally see Nolan walking away with another Oscar. Competition's always stiff though, so you never really know until it happens. :)
