Can I reuse old articles if the guest blog where I previously submitted them has been de-indexed?

I previously submitted articles to a guest blogging site, but the entire site has now been de-indexed by Google. Can I reuse the articles I submitted?
And Regarding the blogger setting up a 301 redirect from the article I previously submitted to the homepage—I’m not sure if the article was actually deleted or just kept while being redirected. Is this setup still usable?

Yes you can reuse it. No problem.
Regarding old content that I'm unsure whether to delete—but which has been 301-redirected to the homepage—if the old URL hasn't been indexed by Google, it can be reused, right?

Yes exactly, since it is not stored in google anymore. You can use it on your website or other website.

Of course yes, you can reuse it, but if I were you, I won't publish it on my blog, it's better as a guest post.

If the original site has completely lost visibility, I would avoid copying the article as it is. Refresh the content, add new insights, and make it noticeably better before using it again.

I'd still verify what Google is actually seeing before republishing it. If the old URL returns a proper 301 and isn't indexed anymore, I'd be comfortable reusing the content—but I'd still update it with fresh examples, rewrite sections, and improve it rather than publishing an identical copy. That way you're not only avoiding any potential duplication issues, you're also giving the new version a better chance to perform than the original ever did.

I think checking the current status of the article should be the first step before deciding what to do next

Yes.Of course you can reuse old articles.

I'd be cautious before reusing the same content especially if the previous site was de indexed i am interested to hear how others have handled similar cases and whether they chose to update the content first

I'd first check if the original article is still live or only redirecting That would make the next step much clearer

You really shouldn't do that. If that site got hit by Google and dropped out of the index, don't reuse its content, even if it's not showing up right now. Google will instantly flag it if the same text pops up somewhere else with the same link.

Honestly, even if the site is fine, it's way safer to just rewrite the article and put it out as a new guest post.

Yeah, go ahead and reclaim your content—if the site is completely de-indexed, Google has dropped those pages, though giving the text a quick refresh before republishing on your own domain is good practice.

As for that 301 redirect to their homepage, it’s total dead weight; once a domain loses indexation, Google completely ignores any links or redirects coming from it anyway.
