One such overlooked mistake is making an attempt to appear successfull rather than really being useful. While most people tends to post about their successes or quotes motivating them, very little tend to post about their experiences or what they have learned from their work. The people who really catches people eye are those whose profile feels like having a disccussion with an experienced person and not self advertising.
In my opinion, the main paradigm shift here is under standing that linkedIn is not a publishing platform at all it is a relationship one. ur post may be ignored but when you make a valuable comment to another person’s post, you have more chances to do well than posting something of ur own. I have found out that there are certain things like experiences, lessons learned and mistakes that generate more discussion as people identify with the process itself.
In my opinion, most people do not appreciate the role of context and personality on linkedIn enough. It is gud to post daily, but if the post does not have any personal point of view, struggle, or take away, it can be easily overlooked. In my experience, success has been more evident when using a combination of informative posts and engaging, connecting with people by commenting on their posts.
