How can I be safe from scammers? How can I DM sellers? How to facilitate payment?

Hey,

I was recently a victim of a scam and upon reporting it, I was denied the claim because I didn't message the buyer on the forum first... and the reason why was because I couldn't send a DM to begin with. I believe I need 15 total posts to do so but then again, I used to be able to DM people, I don't know what happened. Any ideas?

Also, how am I supposed to ensure a safe transaction? If I can't post a reply, if I can't DM, what am I supposed to do?

Serious question... I am actually trying to purchase from a few sellers, but can't do so because if I get scammed again for the same reason, I won't have proof.

in fact this is contradictory, it doesn't make sense to oblige you to contact the scammer on this forum if you can't even send them a message here, it encourages people to go to Telegram

they require it for a good reason, but they shouldn't force you to offer an impossible proof

in any case, use an escrow...if the seller doesn't accept an escrow, tell him to fck off, because it's a scammer, there is no reason for a legit seller not accept an escrow...and of course, only talk to upgraded members, if possible with previous reviews and active BST

Direct Messages (DMs) aren't the only thing that makes a user eligible for Dispute Resolution. Undo popular belief, you can actually use the seller's sales thread to ask them to DM you. Or ask a question BEFORE you make the purchase. Or confirm the purchase afterwards.

Of course, we hope you're doing your due diligence before hand and not just sending money without actually speaking to the seller first.
