Been testing shorter pages lately and honestly, some are beating my 2k+ word articles. Feels like search intent matters way more than word count now.

Anyone else seeing the same thing, or am I just getting lucky?

I think people spent years confusing correlation with causation. A lot of long articles ranked because they were comprehensive, not because they were long. These days, relevance and structure seem to matter a lot more.

i also thought long articles is necessory but no i dont think so

Long article meant to be in depth not just long with keyword stuffes. in search ranking winning content is always the most helpfull one that truely satisfies search intent. as long as they are helpfull they will beat any keyword stuffed article..

Yes, long SEO articles are still worth it in 2026—but only if they provide real value. A detailed article that answers users' questions clearly can rank well and keep visitors engaged. Avoid adding unnecessary words. Focus on quality, helpful information, good structure, and satisfying search intent instead of just aiming for a higher word count.
