for those managing facebook pages right now, which content formats are producing the most consistent organic reach: reels, image posts, carousels, or text posts? i’m particularly interested in posting frequency, whether external links reduce distribution, and which metrics you use to judge content quality beyond likes.

Organic reach seems to depend much more on meaningful interaction than just posting frequently Pages that share useful content and encourage real conversations usually have a better chance of reaching more people over time Consistency also appears to make a difference

Reels can still be used to discover content, although I wouldn't put my bets on one method of posting. The best thing is that you test out Reels, images, and text postings equally and measure reach, watch time, shares, comments, and follows, not only likes. With regard to external links, you should compare both posted and not posted posts in several weeks' time.

In 2026, Facebook rewards content that keeps people engaged. Post short videos, helpful tips, behind-the-scenes content, and relatable stories. Reply to comments quickly, ask simple questions, and post consistently. Share content when your audience is most active. Focus on creating value instead of promoting products in every post, and encourage genuine conversations.

I think you should post everything, not just focus on one specific type.

That way, the reach of your Facebook page will increase, and your brand recognition will increase accordingly.
To build an effective page, you should post new content daily with non-repetitive content, at least 3 posts/reel/story per day.

It seems that Reels has a bit of more preference than others. Anyway, you should combine these formats.
you shouldn't post too many, about 3-4 quality posts per week, and avoid including external links in captions.

my observation is that reaching is more about figuring out what works for your audience rather than numbers. discoverability on reels is vry helpful, but saving, sharing, comment, nd repeat views are better than like.

From what I’ve seen, it depends on the page and audience. Reels are working well for reach, but some niches still get better engagement from text/image posts. Shares, comments and watch time are the main metrics I look at.

However, depending on the niche and audience, reels can still remain the most effective type to gain an organic reach. I would rather monitor video views, shares, saves, and meaningful comments rather than only likes.
As external links may hinder the reach in certain cases, it is better to start with engagement and get traffic through comments and profiles.

I believes that the biggest change is that Fb is favouring content that users are spending time on, not the type itself. While reels can offer you the chance of being discovered, I have noticed that niche pages increase their audience quicker if they combine types and con centrate on interactions such as sharing, saving and engaging comments. External links might not ruins ur chances, but posts created just to drive traffic will not perform as gud as others.

Short-form video remains the most effective format; by creating engaging content and breakthrough topics, you can keep viewers watching longer and attract a wider target audience.

To increase organic reach, the most important thing is to invest in content. Because things are getting boring, overly abstract text or images easily lead to boredom. Focus on short, easy-to-understand content and images to reach a wider audience.

One thing to watch is how long a post keeps generating engagement after publishing because some formats get an initial push while others continue bringing organic activity days later.

I think you should utilize Reels and text-based posts. The key lies in the content: try creating posts with open-ended conclusions to spark discussion—this helps make your page more engaging and lively.

From what I've been seeing, short videos/Reels are still giving the best organic reach. A good image post can still do well, but it's a lot less consistent.

To have the organic reach, I avoid putting external links in the post itself. When I need to share one, I usually add it in the comments, or later after the post has picked up some engagement. Whether Facebook actually penalizes links or not, I've generally seen better results that way.

The likes count is less important to me now. I'd rather look at shares, comments, watch time (for videos), and whether people are actually clicking through to the page or following it afterwards. Those metrics tell me a lot more than a post with a few hundred likes.

Reels are still giving me the best organic reach, but consistency matters more than the format. I also avoid putting links in the post itself when possible and pay more attention to shares, comments, and watch time than likes.

reels are good for discovery, but in the end, it’s all about retention. Time spent watching, sharing, saving, and viewing again are better indicators of content quality than likes. Experiment with different types to see what works for you.

Based on my observations, I can say that Reels continue to have the greatest reach, while carousels make for perfect engagement tools. I base my judgments on watch time, shares, comments, and profile views, and I also don’t add any external links into the main post because they somehow restrict reach.

Reels dominate, hands down.Carousels can still work for engagement, but static images and text posts are pretty much dead for reach

In reality, it is virtually impossible to manually target the specific audience you want to reach, Facebook handles the targeting automatically unless you run an advertising campaign and configure your desired audience within the campaign settings
