Altman is just hyping things up to keep the VC money flowing. Even if some form of AGI happens, search engines still need to show ads and people still need to buy stuff... we will just pivot like we always do. @eerdeshi is right anyway, you cant really hide that kind of tech once it actually lands. Just focus on what works today.

It still hallucinates information, content can relatively easily be identified and it still produces slop. Unless they are waaay ahead in closed development I would not care for it.
The information on the internet is so dirtied nowadays that AI looks at AI generated content to give outputs. There will come a time where the slop will get so bad the online documents won't be reliable anymore.

I don't think we should panic. AI's advancing fast, but we're still a long way off from the sci-fi version of the singularity. It's something worth watching closely, but also a huge opportunity if it's used responsibly.
