How Many Internal Links Do You Usually Add to a New Article?

I am trying to improve my internal linking strategy for my website. I usually add links only when they feel relevant, but I’m curious how others handle it.
Do you follow a fixed number of internal links per article, or do you decide based on the topic and content structure?
What internal linking approach has worked best for your website

I do not link based on any set number of internal links. Most often, I base my links on topic clusters and user journey creating supporting internal links to key money pages
Context is more important than numbers, forced links can decrease context and weaken structure as well.
 
Ideally, I stick with 2-3 but that is just me

I try to get one to the service page and another to a relevant blog. If I am going with 3, then I do 2 to relevant blogs and always 1 to the service page

I don't have a large website, by the way : )
 
I don't follow a fixed number I add internal links where they genuinely help the reader and fit the context. My focus is making sure new articles link to relevant older content and that important pages receive links consistently rather than hitting a specific link count
 
my internal link are usually directed to my signup page because that is the essence of my post and i alway decide based on the topic and content structure
 
I usually link to my important pages first. It helps visitors find more useful content on the site.

i do not have a prescribed number of internal links for each blog post bcz each subjject is unique in its own way. what i do is create a natural flow nd connect related articles, important pages nd deep resources wherever necessary. the best thing i have done is to develop effective topic clusters nd then revisit old posts for linkking opportunitiies.
 
usually aim for somewhere aroung 3-5 internal links per article, depends a lot on the length of the article.

there is no magic nu. to suit all website. What I usually do is to look at the structure of the articles, nd from there put links wherever it will help the user to find information on the same topic.

The same principle applies. Internal links will be effective when used in the context of how the website is structured and how the user interacts with it, and not for simply hitting a target number of links.

I connect related pages in topic clusters rather than counting links.

In my opinion, this figure doesn't mean much to me. what I usually do is check the pages that could benefit from a link. Gud structuring nd relevant linking will definitely beat the number of link on the website.

Nor am I glued to a certain number of link. As a matter of habit, I make those links based on the subject and the priority page. In some instance, it is more valuable to have a few links than ten irrelevant one.
 
I do not stick to any particular number. I add links when it actually benefits the reader and the topic cluster, taking care that no significant page is overlooked in terms of its internal authority. Relevance and site architecture work better than an arbitrary link count.
