Hi everyone,

One thing I've noticed recently is that Google Business Profile suspensions don't always seem to affect businesses that are violating the guidelines. Sometimes it looks like legitimate businesses also get caught in the process.

I've seen business owners who have a real location, proper documentation, and accurate information still run into suspension issues after making what seemed like minor changes.

It made me wonder whether Google's automated systems have simply become more sensitive, or if there are certain changes that tend to trigger additional reviews.

For those of you who manage Google Business Profiles regularly:

  • Have you ever had a legitimate listing suspended unexpectedly?
  • If so, what do you think triggered it?
  • Were you able to recover it, and how long did the process take?

I'd be interested to hear other experiences and see if there are any common patterns.

Small changes like address, phone, main category, website URL or ownership can trigger extra checks, especially in spam-heavy niches. From what I’ve seen, recovery usually depends on strong proof: business registration, utility bill, storefront/signage photos, and consistent NAP everywhere.

I’d also avoid making too many edits at once, because sometimes it looks like the trust signals changed too quickly.

Of course legitimate listings get suspended sometimes. Anytime automation is used for suspensions, legit users get caught up in the mix. But if it's a legit business, there shouldn't be any issues getting it reinstated.

Hi everyone, Have you ever seen a real Google Business Profile get suspended?

ironic i have seen you get banned instead .. but yes they will get
suspended or banned for tos breaking

Yes, I've seen real business profiles get suspended even when they followed the rules. In many cases, it happened after changing the business name, address, or category, and they were restored after verification.
