What's one SEO tip that still works after all these years ?

Hi everyone,
SEO changes all the time, but what's one technique you've been using for years that still delivers results today ?
What still works is common sense seo. Even when google has changed so much criteria for ranking, the basics have not changed. Like relevant good back links still provide value and help in ranking.

The other tool that I keep on using is to refresh my content based on the queries that the page ranks for, and not just to post new articles. Pages will rank for queries that we do not expect at all, and optimising these weak spots gives us more value than focusing on new keyword opportiunities.

Focus on the fundamentals. It's easy to get caught up in all the SEO tips, tricks, and shortcuts people promise will get you faster rankings, but the strategies that consistently move the needle are the core fundamentals: creating quality content, earning authoritative backlinks, implementing schema, maintaining a technically sound website, and providing a great user experience. Those are the things that continue to work year after year. This is especially true when Google rolls out major algorithm updates. Sites that rely on shortcuts or try to game the system often see significant ranking drops, while businesses that have invested in strong SEO fundamentals tend to maintain or even improve their visibility over time.

I creating helpful content that genuinely answers user intent consistently drives lasting rankings.

what has always proved succesful for me is to work on updating my old content rather than always hunting for new keywords. this involves updating old data nd buillding links internally along with making sure that the page caters completely to the search query of the user. this is not the latest SEO trick but it has contiinued working all this while.

a method that has always proved to be effective is to enhance the experience of using the existing pages. it can be achieved by such methods as simpliffying content, optimizing navigation, including ilustrative examples nd providing more relevant content in relation to the search intention of the visitor. the trend in SEO may vary but usabillity always works.

Hey there,

One thing that still works after all these years is writing content that actually answers the searcher’s question properly.

Not just stuffing with the keywords, but making the page useful and clear. Google still rewards pages that solve the problem better than others.

Backlinks matter too, but good content is the base that makes everything else work longer.

The internal linking is probably the most important. Try to use good anchors and write blog articles with backlinks to your pages.

Building relevant backlinks instead of chasing high metrics. A few contextual links from real websites still outperform dozens of low-quality ones.

For me, it's creating content that genuinely answers search intent. Algorithms have changed countless times, but pages that solve a user's problem better than the competition continue to rank. Pair that with a solid internal linking structure and a few authoritative backlinks, and it's still one of the most reliable SEO strategies in 2026.
