Is Google actually penalizing AI content?

In 2026 Google Allow AI Content and Many people rank website with AI, But If you use low quality Content then google Penalizing your content

Doesn’t really look like an “AI penalty” tbh..most drops seem tied to content quality and relevance, and those AI detectors don’t line up with how Google actually evaluates stuff.

Most ranking drops I have seen were tied to thin or repetitive content rather than a specific writing method.

I am sure that some sites ranking with AI content is exception. For majority, it will not work and result in penalties from Google.
 
A lot of my content YMYL is largerly written by AI and heavily editedby me, but for many keywords I show up in the first position above many government websites, so i'd say Google doesnt mind AI content when its not AI slop.
